TIPS

How to get rid of that humidity at the wall foot

Normally this humidity is the result of the basement and foundation masonry waterproofing failure.  This humidity ascends for capillarity and deteriorates the coating and finishing painting.

To eliminate this humidity definitely, there are two formulas:

1. Solid brick walls

Use DENVER BARRA SECA, in the following way:

Surface preparation

Remove the existing coating up to the height it presents humidity (approximately 50 cm). Measuring 5 cm from the floor, with an electric drill, make a sequence of horizontal perforations, with 10 to 15 cm spaces. The holes shall have approximately 10 to 20 millimeter diameter, with 45o C inclination and depth equivalent to 2/3 of the wall thickness.

Measure 10 cm above, and make a new sequence of perforations, interleaving the holes.

Application

Put water into the holes, until the wall is filled up, remove the water excess from the holes and apply Denver Barra Seca until its completeness. After 24 hour, ream the holes with the drill and repeat the application of Denver Barra Seca.  When finishing the application, seal superficially the holes and wait for the wall to be dry, for an approximate period of 10 to 30 days.

OBSERVATIONS:
If it is impossible to wait until the wall is dried, apply Denvertec 100 with a  2 kg/m² brush in the strip where the coating was removed.

Do not use whitewash in the wall recomposition mortar.

For the system efficiency, the consumption of 1 kg/ meter/ each 10 cm of wall thickness shall be strictly followed. Ex.: 20 cm thickness walls, the consumption will be 2kg/meter.

2.Walls in bored blocks

Use DENVERTEC 100, in the following way:

Surface preparation

Remove the existing coating up to 1,50 m above the humidity manifestation, from both sides of the wall.

Regularize the surface with cement mortar and sand, trace 1:3, with 30% of DENVERFIX CHAPISCO acrylic adhesive in the kneading water.

Application

Add little by little component B (powder) to component A (resin) of DENVERTEC 100, mixing until you have a uniform pasta and without lumps. Over the humid surface, apply 3,0 kg/m² of DENVERTEC 100 with the help of a brush, respecting the drying period among the coating of 2 to 6 hours.

OBSERVATIONS
1. Do not use whitewash in the wall recomposition mortar.
2. For the system efficiency, the recommended consumption shall be strictly followed.
